These profiles are sets of instructions that tell Lightroom how to interpret the colors in your photos, allowing you to quickly achieve a specific look or style without having to manually adjust the colors. Say goodbye to the guesswork in photo editing and hello to confidence in sharing your stunning photos.
Let's explore how color grading Lightroom presets can help you achieve your desired aesthetic and take your photos to the next level!
What is Color Grading?
Color grading is the process of adjusting the colors in a photo to create a specific look, mood, or atmosphere. It's a technique that has been used in film and video for many years, but has recently become popular in photography as well.
In photography, color grading can be used to adjust the colors of a photo in a way that complements the subject, setting, or story being told. For example, you might want to create a vintage look by desaturating the colors and adding a yellow tint, or you might want to create a futuristic look by increasing the vibrancy and adding a blue tint.
Our color grading Lightroom presets will affect the hue, brightness and saturation of each pixel, so you can transform your photos with just one click.
Color grading is not just about making a photo look pretty, but also about enhancing the message or emotion behind the photo. By adjusting the colors, you can create a stronger visual impact and help your audience connect with the photo on a deeper level.
Faster Color Grading with Custom Color Profiles
To speed up the color grading process, you can use custom color profiles in Lightroom. A color profile is a set of instructions that tells Lightroom how to interpret the contrast and colors in a photo. By applying a custom color profile, you can quickly achieve a specific look or style without having to manually adjust the colors.
Cycling through color profiles takes the guesswork out of photo editing. By applying different looks you can get an instantaneous feel for the direction your creative editing is going.
Once you've decided on a profile, you can select the preset strength and apply your own styling on top.
Gain confidence: Our expert-made presets give you peace of mind. Stop struggling with photo editing so that you can share your photos with confidence.
Consistent Color Grading on Photo and Video Content with Lightroom Presets and LUTs
When you download a presetpepper collection, you get Lightroom presets as .xmp files. But you also get .cube files. These are Color Lookup Tables that you can use to apply that very same preset in photo software like Photoshop and Affinity Photo. And you can also use them in video editing with software such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro.
Not sure what that means? Let's say you have a favorite style that you would like to use accross your Instagram posts, stories and reels. You can use LUTs to edit the video footage to have the same look and feel as your photos.
What are Color Lookup Tables (LUTs)?
LUTs (Lookup Tables) are a common tool used in video editing to adjust the colors and tones of footage. LUTs are essentially color presets that can be applied to video clips to change the look and feel of the footage.
A LUT contains a set of instructions that tell the software how to interpret the colors in the footage. When a LUT is applied, the software reads these instructions and applies the color adjustments accordingly.
LUTs can be used to create a variety of looks and styles, such as a vintage film look, a warm and sunny look, or a cool and moody look. LUTs can also be used to match the color of footage shot on different cameras or to create consistency across different scenes.
In video editing, LUTs are often used in the color grading process. Color grading involves adjusting the colors and tones of footage to create a specific look or mood. Using LUTs can speed up the color grading process and help editors achieve the desired look more quickly.
